Have you ever wondered what type of primer was good for you? What are primers used for?

There are so many different primers on the market. Each primer has many different ingredients but most have the same purpose. Primers are an important step in your makeup routine, they are applied after your moisturizer, before your foundation. There are many benefits to using a primer. A primer: helps your foundation last longer, fills in fine lines and pores, helps you use less foundation, creates a barrier between your skin are and makeup.

Some types of primers are:
Matifying- great for oily skin
Hydrating- great for dry/ dehydrated skin
Brightening- helps with lack luster/ dull skin
Smoothing- designed to fill in fine lines/ pores

Some key ingredients to look for:
Silicone- creates a silky feel, fills in fine lines, wrinkles and pores
Hylaronic acid- bring moisture to the skin

Not sure how to purchase a foundation?

Here are the things to take in account when buying a foundation

Coverage

How much do you want cover?

Sheer- very light weight look, the no makeup makeup look. Your skin will show threw, it will lightly cover imperfections. This is the lightest coverage.

Medium- some of your skin will show threw. This will cover slight imperfections, mild breakouts, moderate redness.

Full- no skin will show threw. All of your imperfections will be covered, this is the heaviest coverage.

Finish

What type of finish would you like?

Natural- this finish is best if you are looking for your makeup to look like your natural skin.

Dewy- this finish is a luminous, it makes your skin look radiant. Ideal for dry skins that want to look less dry

Matte- this finish is flat. Ideal for oily/ combinations skins that want look less shiny.

SPF

Do you want sunscreen? This is a must for foundation that you wear daily. Opt for no SPF if your purchasing foundation for a special event where pictures will be taken.

HD (High- definition)

Are you purchasing the foundation for a special event? Will there be pictures taken?

HD makeup is key when pictures will be taken. An HD foundation photographs wonderfully. Typically the molecules are spherical so it makes the skin look almost as if it's airbrushed.

Good luck with your foundation hunt!

I love cream blush. Cream blush is a great choice because its super blendable and it's great for any skin type. There are many types: sheer, light and pigmented.

Sheer: L'oreal  Visible Lift® Blur Blush is light weight blush that is super creamy. It comes is 3 colors and its very user friendly, you only need a tiny bit.

Light/ Pigmented: Make Up For Ever HD cream blush can be layered to create your desired look. One layer is a light application, the more layers that you add the deeper the blush becomes. This cream to powder blush is available in 12 beautiful shades. You can apply this with your fingers or a synthetic blush brush, i prefer the brush application as it tends to be more even.

Remember less is more, it is much easier to add color than it is to take off.
